SO YOU'RE LOOKING FOR COPYEDITING.
What you can expect from me:
- All the grammar you forgot in high school and then some. Is it "their" or "they're"? I can help you decipher the linguistic rules of the universe. Or the English ones, anyway.
- Better spelling than spell-check. Technology is mighty, but for now you just can't beat a pair of human eyes when it comes to figuring out if you actually meant "who's" or "whose."
- Punctuation? Punctuation! Oxford commas, semicolons, and em dashes, oh my. They're easy to miss when you're writing them, but they're one of the first things a reader notices, and a misplaced apostrophe can be a real turnoff. Good thing I'm there to catch them.
- Sheer, plain readability. If your sentences are hard to follow, I can make them flow like a mountain stream. There's no shame in needing help; all writers make mistakes.
What I ask in return:
- For copyediting basic prose: $12 per 1000 words.
- For proofreading basic prose: $10 per 1000 words.
A 50,000-word manuscript would cost $700 and take me about 4-5 days to edit.
Payment terms: 50% up front after initial consultation, and the remaining 50% after completion.
If this sounds good to you, contact me through the form on the Contact page and we'll start a conversation.
